1.6 gsi few questions
Hi people well im thinking of upgrading my engine its a 1.0 litre 12v im thinking of a 1.4 sri engine or 1.6 gsi if i can get 1 at the right price. Anyhow what will i need to do the engine swap gearbox loom etc any help would me great cheers tyron

engine, mounts, gearbox, driveshafts, bigger brakes, loom with ecu, transponder & key chip, that all i can think off top of my head

you'l need new gearbox anyway to suit the engine, and you should be able to keep your shafts if your getting a 1.4 16v, but if your getting the 1.6 16v then you'l need to get the 1.6 shafts with it aswell, as the splines are different in the gearbox. the looms will be a straight swap, but you might have to fiddle them around as i think your ecu is in under the scuttle panel where as a normal corsa is in the drivers footwell, but you will need the loom and ecu and the chip thats inside the key to go with your new engine.
to be honest mate, the best bet is just to buy another corsa and move everything you'v done to yours over to the new shell, its alot easier, the only time its worth doing an engine change is when you're going to a 2.0 or a 2.0 turbo. as all the other engine size corsa's you can find everywhere.
