Re: head gasket
you'l have loads of white cream under your oil cap, how many miles has your car done as it might be a worn engine and worn piston rings, but the 1.0 corsa's do use more oil and water than other cars in general i dont know why, but they just do lol

Re: head gasket
your head gasket hasnt gone. either your piston rings have gone or your valve stem oil seals need replacing.

Re: head gasket
its alot of work and alot of money. its not just the problem parts your gonna have to buy. your gonna need to take the head off and everything else, timing, exhaust, intake etc.
if youve got a compression tester or if you can borrow one, do a compression test on the cylinders and make a note of what they are.
then do a compression test with a little bit of engine oil down the plug holes. if compression increases i would say its piston rings as the oil puts a temporary seal round them - therefore increasing the compression.
to be honest i would say just try and put up with it. i would honstly not recommend doing either of them jobs.
