I occasionally hear a noise that sounds like a groaning spring from the rear of my corsa.
When I look at the lower end of the coil spring where it sits in the trailing arm it rests directly on a metal seat fitted to the arm whereas the upper end fits in a rubber seat.
I'm thinking this metal to metal contact could be making the noise I hear, so does this mean my car is missing a rubber seat at the bottom end of the springs?
If not where is the noise likely to be coming from?

Re: Rear spring lower seat
Yo i have exact same problem and found out after looking at a gd few corsas in scrappy that none of em have rubber lower spring seats even tho haynes says to remove lower spring seat when changing spring. I found out after much head scratching lol that it was not the coil spring at all but instead the spring at the brake presure regulating valve! Get a mate to push car up and down and put ur hand over the spring ul feel it right away!
