Crankshaft Sensor - Location

Post by YobRenoops »

Hiya Guys,

I've got an S-Reg Corsa B 1.2 SXI (X12XE engine) and the Crankshaft Sensor is going. Get about a mile and a half out of it before the temp cuts the engine out. I've got a new vauxhall part but need to know where it is to fit it. I know I have to jack up the car to get underneath but need some guidance exactly where to look for it so I can swap it out. If someone could take some pictures that would be absolutely fantastic but if you're describing where it is I'm not the most technical of chaps so if you could bear that in mind that would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

jack the front drivers side of the car up and slide yourself underneath.

look at the back of the engine above the sump abit towards the passenger side. it should be just below the starter motor - it has a single plug going to it and one bolt holding it in. if you've got the new part you'll recognise it.
