Hi guys, wonder if u can help. I have a 1999 1.2i sxi. I have just taken the rocker cover off because of some noisy tappets. I have notice the problem. One of the rockers has sheared, damaging the cam shaft, and the rocker has punched a hole in the side if the valve head casing by being repeatedly moved by the rotating cam. There is also a severe oil leak coming from the external area of the internal damage. And I also noticed the timing chain and timing chain guide on the top is loose. What a mess u might think.
Is this a big job to replace the cam shaft, valve head block, lifter and rocker. ?
Will it be expensive?
What else will be required to do or change whilst carrying out the job?
It will be a shame to scrap the car, it only has 70k miles on it, bodywork and interior in good condition, no rust, although a few dents.
I would appreciate all your advice please guys.
Damaged cam shaft and valve head.
