Hi, this is a follow on from my erratic running topic. 2000, X-reg, engine X12XE
Bought the opcom diagnostic kit and found 2 errors;
one was the MAF which has been sorted,
the other is the ICV which is still present - not working, throttle cable has been adjusted to keep a tick over (done b4 I got car), so can eliminate that as it was obviously not working b4 this engine fault appeared.
When you gently build up the revs at about 1400rpm its sounds like the throttle is being blipped, pressing the throttle slowly further down there is no noticeable change in the revs only a slightly bigger sounding throttle blip. With more throttle opening it eventually starts to rev to about 3500rpm then falls to about 1500rpm then rises again to 3500 and so on. This can be kept going by keeping the throttle still in the same position.
Have attached a video that shows what I mean if that's any help.
Any ideas please?

Re: Wont hold steady revs
Sounds like over kill but change the ICV and the throttle position sensor, I did on my C14SE and it sorted it. steady 900 now
