My '94 Corsa SRi

Post by Blackie »

I got myself a little (clean) Corsa SRi about two weeks ago and thought I should finally share some pics with you guys. This is how I got her then:

Since then I have been doing a little alteration to her as well as tidying her up:

fitted a full set of these:

and this bumper:

So far the spec is:

Lowered 35/40mm on Spax springs, Peco Big Bore 2 rear silencer, full powerflex exhaust hangers, Sport wheels, GSi front bumper (which I got complete for £60), some un named big ass cone filter.

I will hopefully replace all of the bushings with Powerflex ones and tune the standard engine up a little.

as far as i was aware all the SRi's were 8v's? SRi's only had the C14SE engine with 82bhp or 90bhp depending on where you get the figures from. They were only built from 1st March 1993 to the 1 Sept 1995. After these came the Sports in both 1.4 and 1.6 valver engines from 1995 until the B ended production.

i thought the same too, untill i started seeing late 1's with eco's in, unless people started sticking SRI's on sports, i was like ay i thought they were only done in 8v, all confusin in that department then hmmmm,

if i was you i would try and tidy it up the best i could, but it looks tidy now and keep the mods to a mininum, but that my opinion :)

i mean like lower it a bit,
may be some 15" vaux rims,
also the floor may need a bit of attention on one that old

looks nice mate. agree with nath some 15" vaux alloys and lower it a bit more. and iirc the early sri's came in 8v's but if you look on ebay etc most of the sri's are 16vs. iirc its meant to be hard (ish) to get a 8v sri. correct me if im wrong though.

Dunno lads, all I know is that I'm being told that the 8v is the better engine. Torquey as hell, the CR gearbox is brilliant for lift, but top end is crap.

I kinda like the sport wheels and the only 15's that I would pit on her would be a set of cavvy Motorsport/Cesaro wheels.

The floor on this is solid! I've been under it with a screwdriver and no holes or soft spots!! It's been owned by a man from new who then gave it to his son 2yrs ago. The dad waxoiled the car floor.

The only real rust in her is on the boot floor, above the chassis leg where the tow eye is.

Not sure if I've said this, but the car is lowered, but I think the sport wheels just don't show it?

Oh, cosmetically there will be only one further mod, c/coded door handles.

All other mods will be performance/suspension related!

And the main work will be tidying the wee thing up.
