1.2 8v problems.. Any Ideas??

My 1.2 8v is ticking over too high, at around 1100rpm during normal use and after starting if i press the throttle, the revs will stay high.. Sometimes around for 2000rpm and not drop down for a while..
Also, when starting is seems to miss a little bit and ticks over around 800rpm for a while and bogs when i press the throttle

Sorry about the list but i need as much help as possible to get it sorted

might be the block water temperature sensor, i had that go on mine and made it behave odd, you can find it on the underside of the inlet manifold at the back, theirs a wire that connects to it.
