M O T's and embarrassment Today

Post by scotsvampyr »

alright guys and girls i put in my 1999 v plate corsa b envoy in for an mot today expecting the worst but it did fail but onli minor fails hardest job i gotta do is replace the handbrake cable which i am looking for the easyest way to do this. (anybody)

i also though i would share with my fellow corsa owners my embarrassment today when i got home from the mot station i had to swaap the front tyres around so i jacked up 1 side loosend the wheel jacked up other side again loosend the wheel ( u see where this is going) both wheels off and 1 of the jacks FAIL and crash front of the car on the ground , now i took me almost 2 hours to get the car up off the ground and wheels back on and onli having a little cr*p jack left this was not easy but looking back it was funny (and i had the wife in my ear about something when it failed)

Unlucky mate. I'd always do one wheel at a time, guess it crunched pretty bad?

yeah i agree axle stand are a must when doing anything like this, shame to hear about it though, how bads the damage?
The rear seat thing, It is rare that I fold them down, but it has to be said that when folded they do remove a bit of weight.

acording to the mot station there is no damage as it passed its retest today altho i didnt think they tested the car properly as the windscreen washers are blocked and only allow a little screenwash out and the rear seat catch to keep it in place is broken but i am glad next up is new brakes and a needed service in a few weeks i am also scrapping my corsa b club 2000 vplate tomoro (or today even) the price of cars nowadays 50 quid for it its a joke lol

Bought all the bits off ebay, all damaged but reallly cheap bargains, its kind of a yes/no shade of green tbh, it looks so much better in the sun, shows many shades at amdifferent angles ,so Much different and sometimes dull when its sat in the shade, Tbh the photos your seeing doesn't really show the full effect of the paint job, its, much better in person
