Re: Joline: I'm pretty sure you'll hate this..
Cheers for the comments guys, glad you like 'em. If I'm honest with you, the old mirrors were cool, but would look entirely out of place with the 50's work ongoing. I know its rat, but I like it to look the piece too
To begin: take a good long look ar rat-rods, and the aircooled vdub scene. I know people can stick what they like on the car, spray random things on it, make it look silly and call it rat, but it just isn't imo. To me theres rat-look (following in the rat rods and aircooled shoes) and shat-look (sticking a ton of hazzard tape to it, yellow lights, random patches of paint, etc)

Yeah, lots have happened since
Then this happened..
You can see the nail to the right
Wider at the left side rear
And so for now I'm rolling with alloys on the front and steel on the rear..

Cheers rems!
got some unintentional rust coming through on the bonnet where a gritter got it... I'll be sorting that asap before it spreads to the scallop
I wont be fixing the tyre, sell them on to a mate or something, the steels I bought for the car anyway, wider and more 50's than the cav/astra alloys

Dragging back Joline - rat?
In comparison:
And this is how I left the arches the other day.. 10:30 am and about time to hit things with a hammer.
Pro tools!
stop, hammer time..
Loads better, and clearance isn't an issue now thankfully. The camera ran out of batteries but there were some rust holes I prepped, filled, and sanded before applying hammerite over both arches to stop any further damage.
And when the camera was back on we were left with this
inbetween paint, filler and fibreglass drying I had time to vaccum the inside, wash the plastics, get rid of a load of crap drawing some one did on my dash way back and these bits and bobs:
This was held by some string, time to make a catch (my pov spec model never had a door for the glove compartment so I made one out of a bit of alu a while back:
I also never had a clock, so some fake aging and mirror fixing tape =
In case of emergencies:
Time started 10:00am, finnished about 5:30.. a good day at work then

Re: Joline: I'm pretty sure you'll hate this..
Ta much both!
Nah the front will stay thin, personally a fan of the RWD stance it has (not suprising since I love old hot rods haha)
Should be getting a decent steering wheel soon, and giving the wheels a new colour if all goes good.
Edit:
Well this appears awkward, firefox was having a fit when I tried to post from my original account so had to make this one to post? if all goes well I should be back to my original account next post, even though I go under this name in practically every other forum. Peace, and sorry to the mess!
