Hiii. I know this isn't the best first post blah blah blah....
But, i've got beigey coloured creamy oil around the lid and seal of where you put the oil in and my car blows some white smoke. I've been told that this can be caused by cheap oil, but they are also signs of the head gasket going.
My original thoughts were that the head gasket had gone, but after hearing that today, i'm having doubts as the car is not over heating. But the car has never been run for more than 10-15 minutes while ive had it since Dec '10 as i've being doing cosmetic work on it first.
People have told me to drive it around and see what the temperature's like but, theres nothing on the car, thats the problem. No M.O.T, tax or insurance lol and im not paying the wack load just to fork out another 200-300 quid....
Sooo please help and suggestions would be really appreciated

if you were driving around in it before, and its just been started and stopped alot then it should be fine, because from just being stood still your engine will get alot of moisture in the engine, and means as you said at the moment it does loads of small starts and stops then that is probably just the condensation thats collected in your engines internals evaporating off. the best bet is to wait till you'v finished cosmetically and then go for a drive in it for a short distance say half hour away, then wipe the cap, then drive back and see if you got any more build up. plus your engine temp would rise. and if its water in the oil you would get a rise of your sump level on your dipstick aswell. plus if you drained your oil if the car was stood (cold) as everythings settled then and not stirred up then the first second would be water as oil floats on water.

What you have is what we call mayonnaise, a mixture of oil and water, in every car water and oil run very close to each other and mainly in the head (gasket) area and apart from a cracked cylinder liner or water pump seal that is is the usual area of trouble. fluids will always pass from the area of most pressure to the area of least pressure so simple to work it out. If water is getting into the oil then it will be from where the water is under greater pressure than the oil, as in crankcase pressure, so you are looking at pump seal or water way to oil return way at the head. If oil is getting into the water then it would be from the high pressure (cam/rockers) oil feed in the head to the water channels. Either way not good. also looking at the white smoke issue, this is unburnt oil, (burnt oil is black/blue, as in oil getting past worn rings and burnt at the combustioin stage) and is usually from valve stem seals drawing oil into the exhaust port where it's burnt on the hot port and pipe, same principal as sky writing/display aircraft injecting a little oil into the exhaust port. So in short, new head gasket and valve stem oil seals.

Even though you are not using the car you still have to have it road legal and insured unles you have done a SORN each year.
P.P.S. from an avid kit car builder, a tip, ALWAYS, always get the car running and MoT'd BEFOR you spend out on cosmetics stuff or you could be chucking money down the drain if the car then needs a lot to pass the MoT.

dude dont worry i would do what pricer has suggested if the worst comes to the worst if its a 8v your laughing honestly anyone who can use a ratchet could do it 18 quid for a gasket around 25-30 quid for the head skimming and as for a 12v-16v valve on chain hmm litttttle bit more work involved lol but still im sure you know at least 1 spanner junkie who will sort you out!
