right...you're gonna be binning the ECU off mate, coz you dont need any fuel management (thats the point of carbs). You are however going to have to manage the ignition somehow.
When i did my 20SEH on carbs, i used a vacuum advance dizzy and module off a mk1 astra. You are going to have to find a dizzy of an early nova maybe...that's probs your best bet. it'll be a 1.2 probs, but it'll work.
The carbs will then need to be checked for jetting. on a 1.4, i'd say that 135 mains will be fine - what carbs are they? what bike are they off? The manifold is a given...bogg brothers wanted just over £200 for the mani's about 2 years ago...so i dont know what they charge now...
You will also have to regulate the fuel pressure down to the 3.5 psi that the carbs run, so for this you will need at least 1 (i used 2) fuel pressure regs.
Lastly you need patience. It took me a fair while - with the car off the road - to get the carbs to run right, setting the ignition timing and just getting the bugger to run on the carbs. You will NEED to run v-power, and know somewhere local to you that does carb setup...
any dramas, ask me...i've got this t-shirt...believe me. lol.
Good luck!

I was going to buy a set of Yamaha R1 carbs, was gonna get bogg bro's to make me a manifold, but found you can also get R1 throttle bodies aswell with injectors which i thought would be less hassle and more effecient and reliable using a megasquirt system to set it up ?
