Hey, so my car flew through its last MOT so I have 12 months but it has developed the dreaded cracked pillar ever so slightly on the passengers side. I used to have an SRI which had real bad cracks on both sides. Needless to say me and my wife didn't have a great deal of money at the time so I sold it before the MOT came (A friend who is a MOT tester said that its a fault they look for on the Corsa B for its MOT and will fail it).
Right, to my point, I researched this problem a bit back then and I understand it was a product recall at the time but didnt get done by the owners on all cars. Iv heard different ways of fixing this from welding the crack up,to welding a plate inside the pillar from the back to even just gluing a plate in there and filling the crack.
Anybody got any help or advice on this one? I mean is it something a garage would easily fix or is it more of a body shop job? I quite like the idea of gluing a plate in there and filling the crack as I could do that myself?
Ta, Lee.
