Hi, I have just bought an old '95 1.4 GLS Auto. Always liked Corsas ever since owning a 1.5 GLS td years ago. My question is regarding the instrument cluster which does not have a rev counter. My old 1.5Td definitely had one and it was a '93 model year. The other thing is that the speedo reads about 4mph fast at 30 so will probably be way out at higher speeds. I also have read the FAQs and the speedo fitted starts at 10mph so does that mean it won't have a cable? I thought it would be a cable (admittedly I haven't looked) but set I am looking at buying starts at zero mph and is a cable drive.
Basically I think it has the wrong clocks in the car and was hoping someone can clear it up for me. I am an old school mechanic so you don;t need to be gentle with me etc, I just believe in tapping into others knowledge before diving in

Re: Dash Clocks
best thing is just to pop the clocks out and take a look, its only a few screws and the dash clips out, or look in your engine bay just behind the gear selector mechanism and if theirs wires coming from it its electric and if its manual there will be a large cable,

Re: Dash Clocks
am pretty sure it has a cable but it's difficult to see as there is not much room and I am a little ill to go messing underneath. The thing I don't get it in the FAQs on this site it says something about one set starting a 10mph and the other at zero, one a cable the other not yet I have seen both types listed as cable drive
