HID'S ARE BECOMING ILLEGAL AS FROM JANUARY

was talking to the MOT guy today and he said that those HID kits you can buy with the little electrical boxes are becoming illegal as from start of next year, dont know why but now if a car has HID's it HAS to have self levelling suspension and headlight washers, dont know why thats just how it is. also you HAVE to have a working speedo as of next year.

hids have allways been illegal to retro fit but will pass a mot if the pattern is right. they are illegal because the headlight is not made to be that bright and you have to have self leveling suspension.
i will still be keeping mine

they wont pass an MOT from january.

loads of stuff is changing in january,
any lights on the dash - fail, evan tyre pressure monitoring lights

and if your ECU has been illegally modified 'chipped' - Fail

they cant tell if its been illegally modified, only way they could tell is if it doesnt pass the emissions surely...

there isnt anything stated how they can test them, but it does say it will fail.
