Induction Kit

Post by CorsaB1993 »

Ive got an air filter on my corsa B and i think it might be restricting the engine a bit. i fitted it a few months ago but ive just come to the conclusion that it might be best if i move it. i put it on the pipe left over from when i took the old air box off which isnt very long, so the cone is fairly close to the engine. I was thinking of getting some induction pipe so i could move it closer to the front of the car, therefore improving the amount of cold air being sucked in. Ive found some pipe from ebay which is from the same seller as the cone, after messaging the seller he wasnt much help with informing me whether it would fit.

Do you guys know of anywhere that sells induction pipe that would be suitable and long enough to be extended to the front of the car?

Below is the link of the pipe from ebay that im considering buying.

that pipe there is whats knows as a cold air feed - it wont move your induction kit further away from ur engine bt if u place one end near and opening on the grill/bumper and the other by your kit you will get a more constant stream of cold air flowing in. still dont help when ur in slow moving traffic tho :/ to extend the pipe its pretty hard - the best way is 2 make one yourself like my m8 did for his saxo but obv thats pretty expensive and not very easy. tbh if its a small engined corsa then u will be better off with a simple de-restricted airbox and k&n pannel filter as the power gains from the induction kit will be hardly noticeable :)

yeah its only a 1.0L 12v. I will take a picture of my engine bay so you can suggest the best idea. What do you mean by de-restricted? ive seen a few on here were they have put more holes in the side....

this is the best way to do a cold air feed to the engine.

so the cone is in the middle and the extra pipe is going from the cone intake to the front of the car? seems like a good way, would the pipe i linked in the first post be worth getting for it?

im watching the same item on ebay haha. just in blue is all. it would work but you need to enclose your filter then. some people use their old airbox aswell. and enclose the air filter in the box and have a cold air feed into the box. or do what i linked you

well i think using the old box would be easiest, ive kept it in the boot just incase i needed it :-P. the only thing is ive used an angle bracket to secure the cone onto a metal ring in the engine bay on the left of the cone so it doesnt fall off. i have no idea if that would get in the way but i guess if its in the box i dont need to worry about it falling down into the engine. i just hope ive got all the bits from the air box xD

:coffee: With such a small engine 1.0L 12v, your not going anywhere fast, it's only a getting to A-B car, really nothing sporty, wouldn't bother wasteing money and effort for very little return back tbh.

just drill your air box that will do a little, and you could get a panel filter they do just as good on a 1L 12v

would you suggest putting all the original back and drilling the hole in it? or putting the box back but with the cone filter still on and and leaving the front and top off the box so its not sucking in as much hot air coming from the engine?
