1.6 16v Project. Pic Heavy
Well av not been on here for ages so i thought it was about time i started a little project thread, not done much to the car since late summer. Been busy detailing cars. Got a good bit done since i was last on here though an just been gathering bits an peices to to make a fresh start to the car in the new year. Pretty much stripping an buying.
Pics.............
How it started
Then the stripping began
100mm springs fitted with no interior, Sits perfect.
Wheels are up for sale aswell, send me a pm with an offer if your interested.
The worst bit i can find
Then i decided it was time to start buying a few bits for it. Want to get the engine running with all the new stuff on it and get the wiring tidy'd up before it comes out to get cleaned an painted.
New bits so far, Still got clutch to get. Need to find out if i can get a lightened/balanced flywheel for it. Water pump,Timing belt etc.
Will keep you updated as i get more stuff and when i get round to pulling it out the garage
Hope you enjoy looking guys, All comments good an bad welcome.

Just want the car to be clean and rust free. Nothing inside except front seats and the whole car resprayed outside/inside and engine.
Try to get the little 1.6 to a reasonable power without transplants.
Cheers for te good words mate.

Cheers mate.
The tar was a bit of a c**t to get off. Hopefully the exhaust mani wont be to bad. Its not going to be an every day car, its just a toy for the weekends.
Hope to make a start to it again in feb time so will have a few more updates for the thread then.

Re: 1.6 16v Project. Pic Heavy
Well time for a wee update,Managed to make a start to it last weekend.
Got most of the battery tray removed with the help of thr trusty grinder, The battery is now relocated. Tidy'd up some of the wiring, Got the exhaust manifold on an already its turning a nice gold colour and just gave the engine bay a little clean up.
This weekend i think al try outting the power box onto the car, Once i get that on and get the oil catch tank sitting where i want it then al start taking the engine out.
Some pics.....
Cheers for looking guys, Will post more pics up after this weekend.

Re: 1.6 16v Project. Pic Heavy
Just a quick question for you guys, How heavy is a corsa's steering on the non power steering models?
Mines has got power steering but was thinking bout taking it off the car, Less weight and less clutter under the bonnet. Less power takin from the engine. Do you think i Should take it out or leave the power steering in it?
Cheers guys
Chris

Re: 1.6 16v Project. Pic Heavy
could put in electric power steering. wouldnt have clutter in engine bay then, but its not an easy conversion to do and not cheap either
