1.0 to a 1.4 with suprise

Post by neil22 »

Hey ive got a corsa b 1.0 3 cylinder and on new years eve my mate and i got talking and decided it was be a great idea to take our cars on a lil drive from birmingham to nurburgring on a 5 day trip. As chuft as we was it hit us just as hard as the hang over did the following morning when we realised MY car situation. Then decided it would be anyones 1st choice and redtop it but that wernt going to happen as the old man wont allow me a 2.0 and keep it as a 1.0 ecotech so i decided to shrink the engine a bit (or alot actually by .6 of a litre) i found a 1.4 sport corsa for £300 and got the interia, spoiler, bumpers and that so i thought great but now ive got the next challange. Making that even quicker. Any ideas? Im looking on turboing it once the engine, coilovers, alloys n that is sorted but dont no if its going to be safe for a long trip like this. Anyone turbo'd a 1.4??

Also reason im swapping the engines is i want cheep insurance(i know its not exactly legal but its how i brought the vehicle and no nothing about them ;) lol )

Also police by mine a c***s thats why i ent redtoping it.

Any ideas to make it a lil quicker would be welcomed lol

just a powerbox should get you around 104bhp on a 1.4... i had powerbox and 4-2-1 exhaust manifold on my 1.4 before and it made 109hp. there well worth the money for the power gains

I finially picked up my 1.4 last night and driving it back all i could think of was swapping my insurance over and forget the engine swap.

For the past 3 year Ive only driven a 1.0 so the 1.4 was a big difference,

Wasnt till i got out and walked around it did i remember why i am changing the engine instead of keepin the car lol. Massive dent in passenger door and bellow rear side window(previous owner hit a lampost)

All excited now so ill try and upload pics of what ive got and what im doing lol..

Quick question would you tell insurance,DVLA ect of the engine change? I know its illegal but old man dont want me doing it now and well you no how it is lol... Would yas?

IIRC he spent nearly 4g
but he still thinks it was worth it, with it been a small revvy engine it just took off :D

well if u don't in my opinion u might as well not insure it or tax it at all and just drive round without them to be honest, cuz as soon as u do the engine conversation it invalidates ur insurance if u haven't told them and if u get caught then the police will impound and crush ur car. there was a topic on here awhile ago he changed the engine and sprayed it a different colour but didn't tell his insurance or DVLA and his car got impounded and crushed. but end of day its up to u cuz its ur car mate but i would tell them bout the engine and all mods cuz then ur arse is covered if u are unfortunate enough to have and accident.

but other than that get some pics up of the car :)

Im going on the computer later so ill upload pics of my motors and see wat u all think cos i only wanna kerp the blue 1.0lt because of the plate lol i brought the car with w141 SAV my surnames savage lol otherwise id swap the cars

Other then the dent too.. Ill upload pics tho lol
