HELP
im having a big problem atm droover the car to lakeside today apsolotly fine came back to it and had a battery light on along with the oii light found this to b quite wierd so tryed to start car and it tryed to but thean stopt and the engine managment light came on and flasht. and it did this for 5-10 mins wiel i was fidaling with wiers making shure nothink was loose but the car finaly started so got home turnd car off and had same problem agen wuld not start with theys 2 lights on the board been told its a cabeel earthing somewhere but wondered if anyones had this problem befor, any info or tips how to fix wuld b appreciated

ok i think ive found the problem both oil and battery light was on when there is no ignition so im guessing its earthing out somewhere i disconnected the oil pressure switch and the oil light went out but the battery light got brighter so does this mean its the oil pressure switch wire earthing out ? going to investigate tomorrow

OK now iv fitted a new altonator the light is no longer on when the ignition is on but now when the engine is running the battery light is on and the altonator is making a wining noise until i remove the blue and wight cable from the altonator then the light goes off. the other problem is that the altonator is not running the car i have bin told that if u start the car and remove the battery termanol the engine should still run and in my case it does not allso it cut out and the engine management light was flashing on and off try ed to start the car and it wouldn't for a couple of times till it final started again, i am really stumpt on this one and need some help otherwise im going to have to sell the car and try get another cheep car and it might not b a corsa :'(

if your disconnecting the battery while its running it should cut, your breaking the circuit which causes it to cut out
if youve fitted a new altenator and the problem is still there id check your battery terminals are clean and check your earthing points for corrosion, or could just be loose.
