tail end sliding (help please)

Post by jamiejones77 »

Hi guys. Just want some advice. When the roads are wet or just slightly damp, ive been having problems with the rear end stepping out. Im thinking its because 2 years ago I had some budget tires fitted due to cash flow problems. Since then they have not slightly wore out and I keep having this recurring problem. Do you guys think it could be due to the tires, too hard compound.

Ive also checked all the bushes. Anti-roll bar and its not suspension failure either

It did it before I lowered it and since lowering it its not done it as much which is weird. Its just general driving. It did it last night roads were slightly damp. I aint gonna be speeding anywhere ad my gf is 33 weeks pregnant. Id love someone else to drive it see if they could feel anything. Im gonna try new tires on back. If that fails, new bushes. My tire pressures are 32 psi all round. I had same tires on front and had constant understeer. Especially round tight roundabouts in wet conditions. It just went straight on. Had Pirelli p7s on since and they are awesome. I wish it could be down to going too fast but its not. I wouldnt be here if it was. Its ridiculous.

hmm from the sounds of it your rear beam might be bent possibly which is putting your rear tracking out making it feel lively, what i do to check is get two axle stands and piece of string, and place parallel to your wheels from front to back, and measure / space out 1inch from your centre cap at front and back, and then you can measure from left side of rim out to the string, and from right side of the rim to the string, and they SHOULD be equal on both sides, if theirs any MAJOR difference then somethings wrong at your back end, other than that best do what you suggest and try swapping tyres.
