its in the mechanics due to attempting it myselfPRICER wrote:you should'v changed it yourself dude its really easy to do
i know these jobs are easy, but i dont have a toqure wrench to make sure im doing it right etc.
and latley im major broke. when i save up a bita extra money il invest in a desent set of tools.
and like i said before, im at a total loss without my car, so normaly im under pressure to get it fixed ASAP and back on the road, i dont have the time to tinker about on it when its as vital as missing a wheel lol
I swear i need a 3rd car just to be able to have the time to fix my 1st car, as my gf is normaly off in the 2nd car
its just a bad set of circumstances

The hour to fix it should is long enough if you got a ramp n proppa tools lol hell in that hour he could make a brew too.
I'd do it myself though mate save the money it's not a difficault fix the money you spend on labour could be extra tools lol

That's me back on the road, mum dropped the car and keys to my work there now.
Mechanic only charged £20 for the fix - I'm happy with that !

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
Well,
traveled home yesterday - 30 miles
traveled to work this morning - 30 miles
total - 60 miles with no problems
(i am taking it easy on it tho. not taking sharp corners at speed or anything so as not to put strain on the back just to stay safe)
MOT booked for 9th June.
think i just need a Side light bulb.

Checked oil and coolant.
No drop in coolant level - Coolant is a dark blue colour ( Colour Coded Coolant FTW! )
Oil and Oil cap is very clear and well toped up, looking into the engine everything is clean - Zero Gunk and not a trace of any white skim.
Mechanic also confirmed that he checked over the wheels and hes really sure they are working perfect.
Next month il Fill the petrol tank and see what sort of millage i can get out of it.

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
Well,
Now that im much more settled having the car back, i managed to give the rocker cover a toutch up with the blue paint cause after all the work that was done it had started to flake off in places and looked bad.
I was also able to clean out the boot of oil rags and tissues and broken bearings, junk and tools and put the parcel shelf back in cause its been sitting in the hallway of my house for about a month or more. Main tools and liquids are going back into a heaey duty cardboard fruit box i have and kept in the boot ( its my emergency kit )
Heres some pics of the broken bearing parts.
Below was the 1st time we had to replace the bearing ourselfs, and we had to cut this part off with a grinder due to it being seized onto the stub axel.
And below is the part that broke the day after we replaced the bearings ourselfs. you can see it was sheared clean off, so nothing was holding the wheel drum or alloy on. Also i removed the drop pin but you can see how it bent two of the teeth edges that i hammered off.

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
New update,
Noticed some damp patches under the rear bumper, automaticly thinking the worst thought it was petrol or something.
After taking a moment tho figured it was the rear wheel well. whats happend is some Oil that ive been keeping in the car over the past few weeks or more has driped out.
heres some pics...
Underside
Inside
Gona need to rub it down a bit without poking a hole through as parts of the rust are flaky and brittle, and slap some hammerite on that.

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
In with a shot of picking up a set of Arden Blue GSI Skirts for only £45 from local place.
Guy was originaly looking £60 for them. heres his advert ...
"Corsa gsi side skirts in arden blue with L pieces and arch trims.in good condition.looks well on corsa b or gsi. £.60 ono "
Ive asked to see some pics and asked if theres any damage etc before i drive all the way out to pick them up.
But still could be a nice steal if comes with L pieces and all jacking covers and the arch trims are a bonus all in ARDEN BLUE. saves me having to paint !
