Did abit more today

Took the carbs off for the new pipe to go in and thought I would strip them and make sure they were 1million% before they went back on but it wasn't too pretty

Float bowls off
Image

Dirty filter pot tut tut
Image

Thought I would inspect the air screws as number 3 plug looked a tad rich opposed to the others so I took them out to find only number 3 had a O ring in......lovely so this meant the other 3 were drawing air past and making the mixture lean and rather un controllable, luckily had some floating around aladddins cave so problem fixed and re set them at 3 3/4 turns
Image

So after that got the pipe on and the carbs back on there a right tw*t to get back on

Image

Then the servo hose was abit long it looked silly, it still does but not as much lol :)

Image

Then Plummer her in finally brakes that actually stop you

Image

Took it for a drive big difference in drive ability really smooth as opposed to it the other day still needs setting up abit more lots more ponies to come out of it yet but the fun didn't last long...............starts missing got back to the garage and put it down to the ignition amplifier due to the fact that it had fallen apart a little the completely soon as I moved it......great but got one off the bay for a tenner! Happy days

Also got some progress on the boot

Primed
Image

Paint
Image
It had a few more coats after the picture so get it on some time next week!

couldent be botherd updating yesturday so ive done it all today

thought i would steam the engine off while the sun was out yesturday.......while it lasted

before
Image

after
Image

just did a bit of general tidying up under the bonnet while i waited for the ignition amplifier that fell to bits came

mini wiring loom for the fan, tem sensor and dizzy/coil ect
Image
Image

this obviously adds some mean ass horsepower
Image

put the smooth boot on..............i dont like it...........looks silly because ive had to lift the car up for the side exit ( stupid idea what a di*k)
Image

ignition amplifier came today so whapped it on away it goes again still have the problem of it missing after the foots been down.......put it down to this little critter in the swirl pot restricting the fuel flow out of it.....mother fuc***g thing
Image
now it goes like stink for longer than 30 seconds......that is untill you literally run out of petrol......again....

got my sticky paws on this beauty aswell hmmmmmmmmmm
Image

F10 5 speed cluster.........YES! ridiculous gear changes hear we come!

Pinion wheel and crown wheel there a 4.29 ratio there is no difference in the other gears in the cluster you have to put the whole lot in a f13 casing as the f10 don't fit because the bell housing is too small so your basically the swapping all the internals

Few finishing touches to the engine today.....well for now just scouting round for a Kent nvo52 cam and another blydenstein head but there rare.....

Some proper fuel hose not the willy nilly ones I was using
Image

Managed to get some jets for it square peg round hole trying to get them and could only get 1mm or 100 as they call them so called to machine mart and got some "misters" dill bits for misters lol and drilled them to 140
Image
Image

While I had the carbs off (again) changed the fuel pipes and changed the filter while I was at it and to my amazement !
Image
Dirty!

After abit of driving and setting air screws and another 15 quid of juice plugs finally look good and it drives smooth real smooth
