Hi,
I currently have a 98 1.2i LS which has done just over 139K and is losing oil, there is no leak so I am assuming it is burning oil.
It is not smoking heavily or excessively, there is a slight rattle when starting up and every now and then when it hits about 3000rpm, I presume this is the tappets??
I topped up the oil of the dipstick on tuesday 19th and within three days it had decreased to half way when I checked 3 days later.
what could this be the signs of? is it something serious to the engine?
please help

Re: Burning oil!
considering the mileage, would it be worth changing piston rings and stem seals or change the engine altogether?

If u could find a good low mileage engine it would probs be best would take less time to just drop the engine in.
