amature rallying

Post by rick »

does anyone know any websites with info about amature rallying? me and a friend of mine are thinking about getting a car and rally preping it(a corsa or nova if i have anything to do with it). it\'ll probably never happen but it\'d be good to get some info on the costs and stuff

First try and see what google turns up, you never know what you might turn up

If not, then e-mail Iain Shirlaw at www.eurorallye.com, he\'s been rallying for a while now
Also BAT motorsport rally a corsa on tarmac I believe.
You\'ll need yoru national B liscnece to compete, but it\'s just filling in a form to say you\'re averagely healthy really, think it\'s around £30-50

They scary bit is, to be competative in any class of ralying you\'re up against men with in effect for the class unlimited wallets. and the top end cars will have cost 10-18k to build, let alone maintain.

have a search on ebay for some cheap road rally cars, theyre already prepped so all you need is your rally licence. Can pick one up for under a grand. Even better still, if your road rallying, you can use practically any car so long as its road legal, eg. has tax, mot etc.
