Hi,
I have recently been having trouble with my car idling low when dis-engaging the clutch during gear changes! It was occasionally displaying the EML! I tryed diagnosing using my computer diagnostic kit but it would not read ECU so i assumed that it was because my car was too old! Today, i stripped my ICV (Idle Control Valve) and have cleaned it all down and rebuilt car back up! I also reset the ECU to refresh it, when i re-connected battery i left it running in idle for about 5/6 minutes to let it set itself up! But it kept idling at approximately 2900rpm so i gave it a gentle rev and it sorted it so that it was idling between 900-1100rpm! I then went out in it and noticed that the EML is permanently lit up, although the car is running fine! I have just tryed flashing the ECU using the paper clip method and i have been told to short PIN 5 and 6 to show me the fault and there is nothing showing! By accident i hit the paper clip across PIN 5 and 9, and now the radio is not working!
My car is a X Reg 2001 Corsa B 1.0 12v
Does anyone have anything to help me please? Thanks in advance
Adam

ECU
Paperclip dosnt work on the 1.0 and the 1.2 16v engines.
Regards to your radio I bet its blown a fuse
Check the fuse box for any blown ones
As regards to the eml being on it could be that the idle valve has been damaged or not reset properly, might need to get it on a machine that can read it
By the way all petrol injected cars built after 1996 should be obd2 compliant meaning an obd2 diagnostic reader should work no problem
What fault code scanner do you have?
