Depends on the rest of your mods, but
I'd go for a green panel filter tho anyday

Problem with the cones is the engine bay gets quite hot and probably end up sucking more hot air than cold air thus actualy losing power

If you got a custom intake manifold then a cone filter but make sure its as far away from the engine as possible, go for a kit like http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9 ... YNrMZ_4AhQ

I've had both and from how ive had it set up its not much different. I've currently got a cold air feed pipe that goes between the front wheel arch and the headlight. I got the pipe and the cone filter for £25 on Ebay. The panel filter I had was a K&N and was around £30 from Ebay (I think) both work find and improve the noise. I guess it depends if you want your bay to look standard or not.

i had a idea of putting a panel filter in it an putting a cold air feed that's gonna be drilled through the bumper next to the bottom grill cause my bumpers are the old Mk1 Corsa all molded with integrated grille cause I've removed the plastic guards around the radiator too clear a passage too the air box an replace the existing air duct with the air feed

Dunno if this will make any difference don't wanna choke my engine lol

Can the fuel mixture be manually adjusted ??

Sadly No, thats the idea of an ECU is it does the air/fuel mixture its self within set limits.

To fully utilize an induction (or a full exhaust system for that matter) a remap or chip is needed to override the set limits
