Got the Paint, clear coat, thinners and hardener today.
Had to match up the colour using the chart there was 4 shades total, picked the closest one.
My mate also has the bumper and skirts etc all sanded down used a tiny bit of filler to fix a few spots on the bumper near the tow ring.
He also plastic welded one of the broken lug nuts so its good as new now

Paint was - £40 - 1 liter
Clear coat, thinner, Hardener - £23 - 1 liter each for the clear & thinner, 1/2 liter for the hardener
Pic of the bumper all sanded down, and some Primer with a Filler additive mixed into it, thats what the yellow is.

Mechanic told me today that it was the airflow meter, that he tried a different one and it work fine.

also replaced the throttle body and idle control unit which all helped.
its playing up a bit again tho, talking it over with my mate we think its misfiring, so need to check the spark plugs, coil pack, etc etc.

Some prep photos...
Then sprayed with base coat, paint started to react with something...
Wiper arms that i had sprayed also started to flake a bit and begin to rust again, so i wrapped them in carbon fiber vinyl...
I also bought a sheet of 500 x 500 mm , 0.6mm thick aluminum to cut and make replica Jacking Covers for the skirts.

Well,
Bit of a disaster again with the spraying, the Paint kept reacting with what ever was on the GSI Kit.
Mate had sanded it all down again today when i was at work and resprayed it, for it just to react again for the 2nd time.
So i think he sanded it down a bit for the 3rd attempt and gave it one last go.
I was researching into buying an isolating Primer as i think the problem was due to too many paint jobs with a mixture of paints and bad rattle cans. The isolating primer would work as a barrier protection to stop oils and contaminates seeping up through into the good paint. I didnt buy it yet tho. i drove up and had a look and even tho it again Reacted, it wasn't as bad this time, only a few small areas.
I thought it looked really well, and what areas that did look bad we think if we give it a light sand back and one more respray it should turn out well.
Im heading up to give him a hand 2mora...

Managed to get the Front and rear bumber on the car today, heres some pics...
Still have to wire up the fogs, and attach the skirts and arches. Its all coming together
All thats left now is to glue the Skirts, Spoiler and Arches into place. We tried to attache them today, but as its Sunday, and the CT1 Glue takes 24 hours to cure i couldnt wait with work in the morning, and also becuase i want to buy some heavy duty clamps to hold the arces in the correct postition etc, No point rushing it.
Also uncliped the oil presure switch, there was some gunky oil on the connecter that i cleaned off with some WD40. As driving home today the oil light was flickering.
I also put a quarter bottle of Rad Weld into the coolant tank as i was getting fed up with the water level droping all the time. and some minor gunk under the oil cap. So im hoping that might fix a few problems.

Went to Vauxhaull and bought a replacement Oil Pressure Switch and fitted it.
when the oil cools i plan to drain a bit out to lower the level closer to the half way point as its sitting above max ( i over filled it about a week ago by mistake )
hopping that will fix the oil light flickering on and off.
bit of a difference, the new one has a slightly bigger hole and a nice brass mesh thingy so im hopping its a better...
Also the Rad Weld i put into the car the other day seems to be helping as so far the water level hasnt lowered, il just keep a good eye on it.
it also may have indicated a place on the radiator i never thought to check, on the left hand side under the top house and above the bottom hose theres a wire going into the side of the radiator, ( temp sensor ? ) il check haynes Manual later.
Few people so far have commented on the car and how good it looks for its age, the guy at Vauxhaull today said that it looked very tidy and good for its age and was surprised when i told him it only had about 60,000 miles on the clock

Was wanting to know what's a good product to buy to try and bled the weatherd Arden blue panels into the nice fresh painted bumbers etc so it don't stand out as much. I'm guessing tcut but what one ? Plz help also what would a clay bar do to help etc etc. my bonnet etc has weathered swirl scratches feels little rough. When I was fitting the bumbers and removing the badges I used emm Mcguigans compound stuff comes in black bottle it really brought up a shine and helped.

After replacing the Oil Pressure Switch which was leaking oil and probably the likely cause of the oil light coming on and off i never seen it come on today.
Instead the EML light came on again when i was driving home and stuck the gas on doing 70mph up a slight incline.
what i have done tho now that the GF is away for a few days was to inspect what may be causing it,
Water Level is holding better than ever now that the rad weld was put into the mix, il still keep a good eye on it tho.
Reading few posts in work i thought id check out the butterfly valve. all clean still but this lead me onto discovering ..
the breather hose was all gunked up BAD, good and thick, the thickest ive seen was like Glue. Cleaned it all out.
i can only think that, the water has somehow mixed and may be sitting high up the engine on the baffle plate on the rocker cover. As when i look into and under the oil cap its very clean still. ( i knew my water had to be leaking somewhere all them weeks ago )
So id say my we engine was choking for a breath of air, messing up with the air flow, not letting gases escape etc.
something else to keep an eye on.
Perhaps it was caused by putting in the rad weld, a side effect of fixing the water leak.

GSI Fog Wiring - Help
Hi, can any one shed some light on what these two wires are that are not connected to anything ?
I think they are the ones that splice into another wire.
I was looking at the photo here ...

Planning to come in via the rubber Gromet behind the glove box / ash tray near the foot well, as there's a wire already going through it. and seal it back up with silicone maybe.
