Went out with the plan to stick the front 2 arches on over night..

ended up having to use all 10 clamps for just one arch !...

I really hope the CT1 will cure over night and hold it in place

I bought a pack of 20 white arch clips as well but they dont "POP" in like they are ment too, but i covered them with the CT1 so as it cures it should hold in place,
then put a bead of it along the top rim of the arch to try and get it sitting nice and flush with the wing. I double checked it there just before i head to bed, seems to be holding up so far, clamps still in place. may have to "reposition" the car to let the Toyota out of the driveway while the arches cure over the weekend. should be able to get the other front side on this weekend for sure.

Fingers crossed at least. 8)

Gazza theres more photos of me installing the bumper a few pages back, getting it sprayed up etc.
Had some job getting the paint not to react to it. think there was about 5 different paint jobs done to it over its life time, original, silver, red, silver, silver and now blue lol

Disaster on the passenger side, i was adding more CT1 into the gaps, to give it a nice flush finish on Sunday. plan was to add the driver side that morning but i done more work on the passenger side instead. ended up having to add all 10 clamps again to it. i thought this morning it was gona be perfect and it looked like it was until i seen that the bottom of the arch not clamped down close to the passenger side door were the skirt was gona go had "pop" or "pinged" out cause there was no clamp. was RAGING but was late for work and didn't know if it was all gona stay on in the rain and driving at 60 / 70 mph so had no other choice but to Rip it off

what i think im gona have to do is call out to Vauxhall dealership and speak to the parts department and see if they have the proper clips for the Arch trim, the ones with the screw bolts.

I got some clips from vauxhall mate, there not expencive but!! If the bits on the back of the arch where they slot into are broke then they won't work... I tried so many types of glue too and when I tried to tighten the plastic nut onto them they just span around and ripped off... Best just to stick with tiger seal or something :)

Yea some of the lugs on the arches are broke so i was gluing the clips onto them using araldite glue. Id say if i didnt have to rush off to work this morning i coulda used a bit more CT1 and glued the section that "sprung" out and clamped it down again. damn stuff just takes that long to Cure.

How long does tiger seal take before its set, 24 hours as well ?

Total Knob End today nearly made me crash the car cause he was driving like a well .. Knob End

I was coming out of work like normal on a duel carriage way, 60mph zone.
noticed a car pulling out of a side road and into the slow lane.
i move into the fast lane to over take
he then decides hes a smart arse and speeds up preventing me from moving back into the slow lane
all the time coming up to a roundabout just a few meters ahead so i dono what his rush was.
so i pulled up behind in the slow lane and beeped at him for his total stupidity and flashed the fingers at him for such careless driving
he then desides to try and scare me by braking hard twice to try and make me run into the back of him, what a idiot, whats he playing at i thought.
he then stops at the roundabout and gets outa the car and comes over and shouts at ME, told him "what the hell are you playing at !! you clearly saw me and i had right away" trys to pan off that he was in his own lane blah blah.

i dont care if he wants to speed along at what ever speed but i really cant stand drivers like that. :rules:

Any way after yesterdays near miss, a tow truck does the same thing today.

Big yellow tow truck with a car on the back sitting in the middle of the duel carriageway. He sees me Beating down that road in the fast lane at 70mph.
but decides to pull out into the fast lane anyway and sit there traveling at about 5mph !! not knowing if hes gona verge over into the slow lane or not i didnt know what to do. ened up having to undertake him or else i was for going into the back of him !!

thankfully i had just over taken a truck and was well clear of the truck to be able to Undertake in the slow lane.

Seriously what the hell, can people not see me driving or something !

-------------------

Any way rant over for today..

Drove up to my mates to do a bita work on the car.

we got all the arches on the car by using the old bolts and some of the new white clips i got and plenty of CT1 Glue.
we then Drilled up through the skirts and bolted them onto the car and CT1 Glued everything else.
Car looks totally different. Its sitting outside his house over night to Cure. so fingers crossed i get a call 2mora to say it all worked out perfect. had a bit of trouble with alignment on the driver side L piece and rear arch as if it was too short. cant explain why so had to compromise a bit on it.

Also replaced the Rear Wiper with A Punto Wiper arm as it looks better, bit of meat on the arm and looks more modern.

Also figured out the GSI fogs wont work due to the Switch not working. there was no power getting to the fogs. so i need a new switch. hoping to get the proper GSI Front Fog Switch

Apart from that every thing looks great, pics due soon.
