Im getting a bad misfire, it happens when i start my car (doesnt matter if its warm, cold, first start or half way through the day) and when im slowing down to stop.
The revs drop to about 400 RPM and the car shakes like mad! No lights have come on the dash while driving, but when starting the car if it misfires it stalls. When starting it again it starts fine and runs okay, but then when stopping (every time) it happens again.
Any ideas on what i can do to fix it?

Re: Corsa b 1.0 misfire
Anyone got an idea?
i just think my car is f**k... list of stuff i see wrong with it.
When i turn it clunks like mad (both ways)
Steering wheel is not straight
Tracking keeps going out
Steering is harder one way than the other
Doesn't like to start and almost stalls when driving
Clutch is seriously high and hard as f**k! (but sometimes goes softer)
Accelerator is really hard to press!
rear suspension creaks like mad
Exhaust bangs on the rear axle
Exhaust rattles in the middle
Engine sounds like a tractor
Leak in the bottom of the radiator so loosing lots of water/coolant
Hand break doesn't work properly half of the time
There will be more things that i havent listed but forgot about... any advice on soem of them that i could fix myself for cheap? or how much it would cost me at a garage to get them fixed?
This car is just pissing me off! cant afford to get rid of it though... hope its not a lot of work to sort it out

Re: Corsa b 1.0 misfire
hi there buddy heres some advice for you,
clunking both ways when turning could be your CV joints telling you they are already 6 feet under.
steering wheel is your tracking.
tracking issues, change the rack? something must be loose or damaged if its just changing after being repaired.
steering harder one way? ball joints? are they free moving? get the car in the air ask some body to turn the wheel to investigate the problem.
stalling issue, and jumping? my friend had this issue he had to change the crank sensor, EGR valve and idle control valve in the end so start with the cheepest being and diagnose problem that way.
clutch high or low, thats signifys its on it way out i advice getting that changed soon as.
accelerator hard to press try some grease on the linkage and get it moving freely or change the cable?
rear suspension is it the damper? if so standard items arent to expensive.
exhaust banging and rattling is it the correct exhaust? for rattling change to rubber mounts. tip, mine used to rattle at the rear so i used cable ties the hoist it up a bit more to stop it rattling on the spare wheel area.
give the engine good service oil air anf fuel filters stick some red ex through the tank blow it out a bit.
rad leak put some rad weld stuff through it to block up the hole if its not to bad if is then therefore replace, cheap enough parts on ebay.
hand break is the cable shot? will it adjust?
a garage will want a lot of money for this work, the parts are cheep enough and these cars are certainly arent goping out of fashion plus with doing the work yourself you car learn about the problem to help others on here. over time you will work out the kinks in your car and in the end you will have a nice motor by the end. for example ive got a 1.2 ls when i got her she was battered up with a huge dent in rear quarter panel now she is a 1.2 sxi replica with corsa C sxi alloys in black and its taken me 6 months to get my car to how i want it and its still not finished because there is currently very little interior.
good luck all the best
Nick

Corsa b 1.0 misfire
Thanks for all the advice mate! I'm going to go through it all and see if it solves my problems I'm going to take it to my mates garage and see if there are any fault codes (if you can do this on 1.0?) will give it a good service myself while I'm at it! Also how do I adjust the handbrake?

Re: Corsa b 1.0 misfire
should be able to get fault codes for the car because the codes come from the ECU,
on the corsa the hand break adjuster nut is situated above the rear axel crossmember. chock the front wheels and get rear axel in the air with wheels turning freely. release hand brake then apply upto the 4th notch for adjustment. rototate the adjusting nut until resonable force is applied, release hand brake from inside and ensure wheels turn freely without sticking, if further adjustment is needed then do so. when adjusted apply grease to ensure free movement. any problems let me know buddy
