Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
got the new wind deflectors back on the car, secured them in a lot better this time around.
tax and insurance is fast approaching for renewal always great coming into Xmas.
car seems to be holding well, including water, oil etc. still need to find the time to get my EML light turned off
ive no major plans for the car as of yet, apart from maybe a K&N Panel filter, drilled air box, and fit the rear GSI Spoiler just to complete the look.
it does need some decent shocks as well. might just pick up something cheap if i can. and as soon as i get a better job or more income sell it on and buy something more modern / reliable / sporty yet fuel efficient

K&n filter fitted feels much better IMO
I'm looking some help tho as I'm looking new standard suspension with a 40mm drop
Can any one please post some links as to what would be worth buying I've seen some sets on eBay for around £150 - £200
I don't have a fancey engine so something low end I'm sure will do me fine.
Would love some help please.

Ohhhh that sounds good pricer. What are they front coils and back springs at 60mm ? What make are they ? And would you be able to hold them or are you looking quick sale ?

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
Stupid Car over heated this morning when i was heading to work. had to pull over and get 2lt of Deep River Rock and put some in the coolant tank to cool it down.
after that seemed fine. Drove at 60mph for about 30mins. il get a better look at it this evening.
all i can think of is maybe my rad weld fix is failing.
might look into geting a new radiator. doing a flush of the system to clean out all the gunk get it as clean as i can. put some nice distilled water in with some good anti-freeze/coolant.

Left car with my mechanic for him to do a pressure test, check engine light, and to just give his general opinion on what he thinks is wrong.

Hope so mate.Big C wrote:Hopefully he finds something that aint to much of a dent in the wallet mate
yea im convinced its a pin hole leak somewhere, its not mixing with the oil. and theres no visable signs of leaks, ive replaced all the quick spring release clips with screw hose clips. checked and double checked all pipes and still no signs of leaks. thats the day i got so fed up triying to locate it i just chucked some rad weld into the tank and that sorted it. only thing left i can put my finger on is the battered up Radiator.

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
have you thought it might be leaking from around the water pump?

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
It did when we 1st attached the water pump away back when we re-built it. but we solved it by using liquid gasket to seal it. and it hasn't leaked since.
when engine is running the pipes feel dry. the last only visible sign of leaking was the bubbles of water coming out from the hose going into the thermostat.
the rad is all battered up. And there's no leaks/ Damp in the foot wells.
Its a strange wee one
maybe il use some expanding foam in the engine bay

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
mmm.. the expanding foam wasnt the stupidest of ideas.
Mechanic suggested using a £45 bottle of liquid that repairs cracks in the engine block.
hes used it twice before and its worked wonders. must be a Super XXX version of Rad weld.
i told him i cant bear spending any more money on it. and this is going to have to be a Last Resort
he knows all the work thats been done and knows the car inside out by this stage, so im taking him on his word, fingers crossed.
I dont have the time, money, or effort to attempt replacing the block

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
I should be getting the car back tomora around dinner time.
The stuff he's gona use is called steel seal. It's ment to be only on the market in the past 6 months with 99% sucsess rate.
He's used it twice. And from what I've researched seems like better stuff than cheaper products.

Ment to fix/repair head gaskets, cracked blocks leaks etc.
Again fingers crossed
