Driving about an hour ago, the car suddenly smelt a bit like burning, then there was a screeching sound and a thud...something fell out from under the car, and the battery warning light came on.
Got home and had a look and it was the alternator belt - it's gone.
I've had a scout around but cant find any info on how you go about replacing it. Anyone had this before? Is it a fairly easy thing to do, or best to take it into the garage?
Cheers,
Rick

If its anything like my 1.6 then it's sooo easy... Just a 15mm spanner/socket on the slack adjuster and take off the tension, fit the belt then release the slack adjuster and it will tighten up the belt again... Done
