Post by Gordieboy3 »

Hi, my corsa 1.2 automatic runs fine but coolant light comes on for few seconds then goes off randomly and when it does I loose power for few seconds then it's fine again, this has been happening for a few days, I've checked coolant and it's fine, can anyone help before I have to pay mechanic

sounds like a dirty sensor, im sure someone knows more than me on this issue. you could try flushing the whole system and refilling it, could be abit if dirt or gunk thats blocking up a pipe or something. worth a try anyway

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

i think he may be on about the eml, if thats coming on when driving on load or up a hill, then its either going to be the maf sensor or the egr valve or possibly the icv, to rule these out, take them off and clean them with carb cleaner. if it works then youve just saved 100s of £s. To reset the ecu, just unhook the battery for an hour. if that doesnt work then you may need to take it to a garage to have the ecu reset.

when your bought your new maf sensor, did you buy a cheap one or a branded one (bosch)??? the cheap ones are crap and make things worse imo.
