Corsa b 1.4 won't start
Hi there I have got a corsa b 1.4 sport and the other day I was driving along and the car just cut out but after 5 mins started again but after about a mile done the exact same and now just won't start tried bumping it just no power and tried fuel didn't make any difference. It doesent even make a noise when you turn the key. Any ideas what the problem is ? Cheers

Do the dash lights dim when you try to turn it over
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Is the battery good? If yes then its an altenator prob

this may sound daft but..
Does your petrol filler cap make a vacuum noise when you open it??? if so it could be the tank breather pipe is trapped, happened to my ex years ago, she had to keep the filler cap open when she drove about and eventually took it to the garage where they fixed it for her
I know its a long shot, but worth a check

Re: Corsa b 1.4 won't start
im having what i think is exactly the same problem with my 1.4 corsa.
the described symptom of the dash lights dimming also happens, but the battery is fully charged and there is plenty of juice coming out of the alternator.
as your driving down the road, for apparently no reason the engine management light will come on and the engine will die for a few minutes?
it may be worth noting that when i did the paperclip test the engine management light just flashed around 85 times then stopped.
i also checked on the off chance that there was a spark coming from the plugs and there was nothing.
im really interested in what your mechanic says about this
thanks
Tom
