Hi There, Being quite new to postin I've already put this cry for help in the wrong section.
I'm changing the water pump on a " V " reg cos it's got a noisy bearing. I'm trying to get the engine mounting bracket off to get at the water pump. I have removed three long torx screws that go thro' the bracket to the block but the other end where the rubber bush goes into the chassis is proving to be a bit tricky. There seems to be a bolt thro' the bracket with a nut plus a set screw. I've got the set screw and nut off but the bolt doesn't have a conventional head for a socket and it won't budge even with the nut off. There are four torx screws holding the rubber mounting assembly but I can't get at them for the aluminium bracket.
Help Please ! ! ! ! It's doing my head in

You dont need to take the engine mount out t get the water pump out, but you need a crane to support the weight of the engine so the bolt will move
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Cheers for that Johnny.johnny wrote:You dont need to take the engine mount out t get the water pump out, but you need a crane to support the weight of the engine so the bolt will move
I have got the engine supported, the bracket is very loose except for this bolt, or maybe I should call it a stud because it doesn't have a conventional head. Could it be one of the splined type where it is driven thro' the top and fastened at the bottom?
