1995 1.2 Engine management light

Post by koriuk »

Afternoon gentlemen... I am afraid I must ask for some assistance again... My Corsa b 1995 1.2 Recently I have noticed is using more fuel than usual... and every so often I get a big wiff of petrol a few times I have even questioned my wife as to wether or not she put the fuel cap on properly! (poor woman) Any way I can not be sure it is from my car so it may be nothing... But like I said... MPG has slightly dropped and it is losing a lot of power... Hills that required 4th now require 2nd etcetera... The other day the engine management light came on but since starting it today it has not reappeared... Also if it is of any concern since the day I have had it I have found that if I floor the gas pedal then it would lag slightly as it performs better just slightly above that level... I have never worried about this as the car is very old and it felt like the mixture was just a bit too rich and it needed tuning... MPG was great and it had great power (for a 1.2 of course)
please Iif you need any information to help just ask as I am not skilled in this area and cannot afford to take it to the garage

Going by the engine im goin t guess it either the idle control valve, mass air flow meter, crankshat sensor or lambada sensor, i would bet money its one of them

But you need to take it to get the codes read should only be 10-20 pound
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
