hey guys just a quick question,
I noticed after my MOT I kept getting little shocks getting out the car, so I opened the bonnet and noticed that a new earth wire has been soldered from the brown wire on the mass airflow senor connector to the engine block.
im presently disconnecting the battry because if I am getting shocks then its draining power and will kill the battery
is the brown wire a earth?? and should I unsolder the earth wire or leave it???
many thanks
imran

Re: mass airflow sensor
Brown should be an earth but all earths are on the body/chassis
I get a shock from my car now and then it has never drainned the battery

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: mass airflow sensor
I have no idea why they've connected it to the AFM, my suggestion is to unsolder it, and then connect the wire to the chassis not the battery so the AFM is properly grounded.
