I regularly drive down a gravel lane and i can feel/hear knocking as if something is loose. I assumed it could of just been cause i was on gravel but when im on the normal road and wobble my steering wheel it knocks too? It may be something simple but i have no idea :/ it may also be link with the fact my powersteering is knackered, it decides when it want to work and if it starts playing up and going loose in one direction i can knock my steering wheel and it will turn of completely.. Im guessing the knocking has started because my steering has been shot for quite a while, but if anyone has any ideas or has had the same problem any advice would be much appriciated!
Thanks

Re: Knocking steering?
Could be many things tbh you should have checked when it first started
Start with jacking the car up and try wiggle the track rod ends, ball joints and any other bush you see,
Check the wheel for play, move the steering wheel while jacked up to try locate the noise

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Knocking steering?
The knocking has only just started. havent had the eps fixed cause i was told it can be around 400 pound, my cars not even worth that ha.
i found a thread on corsa sport through google and it could be a joint at the bottom of the eps, ill jack the car up tomorrow and have a look around. track rod ends are pretty knew so cant see it being them but its worth a look, thanks.
