Tempremental starting.

Post by joehandley94 »

I have a Corsa B T reg. (X12XE)

Its starts temperamentaly. The first time I try and start it in a day it just wont start, starter motor turns over fine but the car will not fire. I usually have to bump it or jump it or sit there for 10-15 mins til it starts.

I changed the starter last week and it started fine then this has started.

Also it sometimes starts first time and then when ive drove it and left it for a while when i try and start it again it just doesnt start.

Any suggestions on what it could be?

Common problem get the codes read or do paper clip test
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Probably not related but when I had a coolant leak my cylinders were filling up with water so when I tried to start it would clunk start. Also guy in work has ford focus that needed rolling start due to starter and alternator I think

Cant do a paper clip test as it doesnt work with my car. I've been told it could be the crank sensor, and I've tried 3 different scanners and all keep saying 'linking error'.

could it be the crank sensor? theres no smell of fuel when cranking and wont bump start now either.

That would suggest a problem with the ecu tbh was it 3 different brands of scanners ?
