Hi all,
To cut a long story short , I was driving my corsa the other weekend when the engine started to rattle and the engine light came on then all power was lost.Got the car back to my house via recovery and set about fixing it.
The car will not start and just turns over.
I first suspected the timing chain had probably slipped and knocked the timing out causing the non start but after checking the timing the timing was all okay and the engine would turn over by hand. The car also turns over by the key but clearly lacks compression.
Removed the spark plugs and found that on cylinder 3 there was what appears to be coolant , which would point to a head gasket?
Before i go ahead and take the head off has any one else had a similar problem or suggest i should check anything else before i strip the head?
Any help would be rather appreciated
Many thanks.

Re: Corsa 1.2 16v Non-start
If theres coolant in the combustion chambers the hg is more than likly failed, only advice id give is make sure you count up what its going to cost in total and get the head skimmed and dont cheap out on one of the most important parts of the car
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
