Spraying Corsa B black bumpers

Post by GeorgeMorris »

Hi, i tried to spray my corsa b bumpers silver but the paint just went all bubbley and it runs a lot too, it leaves black spots and an awful finish, so i resprayed black and that was fine?

I'm not using primer, is this the case? because when i spray it black its fine!

First things first is prep better prep the better end result

Sand down with a fine grade wet n dry paper then clean up with a rag and white spirit then the same with very fine wet n dry and clean the surface should be smooth

Once dry use so plastic primer not normal primer as that will just flake off and give 3+ coats

Then paint the colour of you car again 2-3 coats is best

The 3-4 coats of laquer for a deep shine

Hope this helps

As said your finish depends on how good your prep is

To spray them standard plastic bumpers theres alot of sanding, theres a bumpy sort of grain through them and it has to be sanded out completly to leave it smooth

Spraying any part of the car is a fair bit of work,
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
