Loose Headlights Help?
Hi guys, new to this forum and in desperate need of help, my car just failed its mot about 20mins ago because both headlights are 'loose', the idiots at the garage couldnt tell me much more than that. ive had a look and both have a little play up and down but all the fixings seem to be in place and as far as im aware they have always been like that and always passed the test. My corsa is an 'N' Plate so is this going to be a new set of headlights because of bracket wear?
Any help would be great thanks Tom.

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
My car failed its mot on the same thing it should be two locking clip behind the headlight (either side) that why there is movement in the lights (up and down) they are £1.50 on ebay and easy to replace buddy if that helps at all

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
I did see there was meant to be clips but it looks like that would only stop the unit going up, i assumed they are meant to be in the raised position. would it help for the re-test to wedge the lights up from the inside, as i dont have time to get the clips before monday or will they spot that? i reckon they only give the lights a wiggle from the outside to check there secure, i hope anyway lol. Also the allignment is probably gunna be out isnt it

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
U should have a 7 day retest and if ya live near a Vauxhall dealers i.e greenhouse they sell em there should only be a couple off quid and ye they will check if ya put them in unfortunately or try a scrappy if one is open but make sure the clips are in tacked on and there are non broken there are 2 on each clip that the light locks into if one is broke they are no good. To see what i mean look at the ones advertised on ebay

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
Edit- nevermind its already been said, just replace the clips or cable tie them
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
24hr re-test unfortunately lol and ill have to try and cable tie them or secure them with wire, what a pain in the arse for such a silly thing the car isnt un-roadworthy light work perfectly well and gravity keeps them down the clip will only stop them going up! anyway cheers for the help guys, need some luck finding parts on a sunday haha!

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
It is unroad worthy in a way, your headight is bouncing up and down cinstanly while driving, ive meet people that dont have lights secure and its annoying as f**k meeting them on the road not to mention distracting
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Loose Headlights Help?
True but there is barely any play on either headlight a piece of cardboard would literally wedge them, are those clips fairly universal? hoping halfords may stock them or similar
