large puddle problems
Hey guys well here in sunny Birmingham when had real bad rain yesterday, and unfortunately I drove through a large puddle (didn't realise I was in in until it was too late).Anyway the car was fine yesterday and this morning when taking my son to school I noticed a few things...
1-When using the indicators every now and again the light on the dash stays on solid and then goes back to normal. When I got home I tested all the lights and they seem to be working fine.
2-I think I can smell burning coming from the heaters.
3-Dunno if this one was just me but, when selecting 1st and 2nd this morning the car didn't want to go. Seems to be fine now, but will keep my eye on it.
Could some water have gotten into something??

Re: large puddle problems
*EDIT*
Now I've noticed that when the indicators are apparently blinking the fog light indicator on my dash also blinks alternatively with it, and that all the other icons on the dash have a small amount of light behind them.
Can anyone shed some light on this as im at a total loss, obviously its something electrical , but where do I start??

If it doesn't fit,

If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

I've just noticed the passenger side in the boot is quite wet, could this be the cause and would the light fixture getting wet cause the above issues and/or damage the indicator relay??

Yeah water and lights dont mix
Take out any wires or plugs where the water is and check all connections are clean

Re: large puddle problems
Have you checked to see if the rubber drainage pipes behind the rear lights are fitted properly? The previous owner left mine out of the holes when changing a couple of bulbs so water leaked into the rear of the car .
