Any one recon you could drop a xafira turbo engine in a b ? Recon it would work or is it doomed to fail ? Would it even fit ? Would you have to change all your running gear? Im not very mechanical minded but just toying with some ideas ?

Tbh if u were goin to you with the idea of a turbo engine i would a gsi turbo astra engine or even a corsa d vxr. Zafira turbo is basically the same as the astra turbo engine also i have seen an omega 3.0 engine in a corsa which gives alot of power and would keep up with most. To do most engine changes you need to strengthen the engine bay sometimes cut into the bulk head update the suspension and brakes and change the harness which if ya got the cash and time makes a cracking project for ya self

As above its pritty much a astra engine so its just a case of getting all the mounts wiring ecu ext and then swapping it all

A basic engine swap is not someone with no mechanical knowledge should be doing, not without a mechanic present either,

The zafara engine is from the z range engines which means theres a fair bit of work on top of custom mounts, custom wiring to support extra electric systems, custom exhaust, strengthing engine bay, heavy grade coilovers or custom strengthened springs theres more aswell,

I dont mean to put you off its just so you know its a big big job prob cost 10000+ aswell, but if you want big turbo power a c20let out of a calibra or cavilier turbo is a much better option and there guides on how to do it step by step aswell

Sorry i havent replied propperly internets been screwed, i just wanted to do something different i thought as well about dropping the audi a3 2.0 tdi engine in it. I mean are the red tops as quick as people make out ? Cos ive also thout about going 4wd and trying to cut the car up to run a prop and install a diff was thinkin of using a ahortened quattro system ? Wha you guys think ?

Tbh mukka the ideas ya have sound good in theory but wont always work. The red tops are quick in the corsa and are pretty simple to do and u will find endless threads on how to but to be honest any conversion means u gave to have deal pockets and no car on the road for weeks at a time. U can fit a 3.0 v6 engine in which will give ya 210bhp which not much will catch up with ya for sure but the concern Imo is that u don't really gave the experience to do it don't want to derter ya dreams on what ya want just looking realistically. If ya want a quick corsa i would personally keep urs the way it is and get one pre done will save ya a fortune and if ta don't like it at least ya still got a car to fall back on what engine is urs anyway

The redtop is 150 when new but theres no stock xe running 150 due to there age but there still mighty fast

The let is 200 and can see 350 easy with a 3.5 chip not saying its cheap but its easy lol

As for your qurstion about the xe being that fast

Thanks guys your probably right might keep tinkerin and messin with my car and learnin along the way and maybee in the future have a go at a redtop conversion and mines the 3 pot

No probs mukka we dunna want to dishearten ya but its just not an ideal thing todo when ur a beginner i ave seen alot of conversions done wrong over the years by folks with some knowledge but the more ya learn the better ya become
