OBD socket giving me the cold shoulder

Post by dualtech uk »

Hi guys, new to this forum so go easy on me!
I purchased a corsa b 3 dr, 1.0ltr 3cyl for my daughter a few months ago as her first car. All was well for a while, replaced cam chain as it was a little niosy and didnt know when it was done, also gave it a full service that was fine and then had a fault with the air idle control valve which set off the mill light, I connected to the obd socket which confirmed the fault, replaced, and all was well.
There is now a new fault, poor idle and a little hesitant, the mil is on, goes out occasionaly whilst driving but is mostly on.
The problem is I can no longer connect to the obd :o
I fit LPG systems for a living and use my diagnostic laptop, with various leads and software weekly, I know what I used to connect last time but it just will not talk this time :(
Do any of you clever chaps on here know any reason why the port would loose talkability? It has power as it lights up my lead but its keeping very tight lipped!
In return if any one is running LPG I will be more than happy to helpout with any problems if I can :)
Thanks in advance

The 1.0 and 1.2 eco engines are notorious for doing that, theres nothing wrong with the port its just the ecu only talks to certain equipment, even op-com has trouble connecting somtimes and its designed for the thing lol, if you can try another machine on it, it will prob work
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
