Spraying alloys

Post by Domwhitex »

For spraying some 5 spoke vauxhall alloys i bought white could i just use white primer? Or would you need to primer then white over the primer?

I e never sprayed before, another issue they have little kerbing marks from whoever used them before i bought them off of the guy, any tips?

For mine I used
120,240,,800 grit sandpaper
Holts filer stuff
Grey primer 3 coats each wheel
White paint from a pound shop 3 to 6 coats each wheel because it was cheap and took awhile to build up
And simonz clear lacer, it's the strongest stuff ive seen

And then just tape cloth white spirts thinners took me around 3 months lol
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Tbh white is a pain cus it will discolour over time but it wud be like johnny sez mate i wud take ur time and gentle spray strokes so u don't get over spray and i wud lightly wet and dry in between coats to give a smooth Finnish
If it ain't green and black send it back :D

I thought it was easy enough yeah but as said I was taking a lot time as was in no rush, and as Andy said the 800 grit should be wet
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
