Gear Stick Detatched Unable to Change gear stuck in third

Post by chriscolden »

Hi,

I have a corsa b 95 3dr 1.2 and the gear stick has detatched itself from what I beleive the the gear selector linkage and therefore it's stuck in thrid.

Can anyone tell me what parts I need to source to fix this? I have done some googling and I'm reading that its a common problem as its held together with a plastic part. As this has falled off somewhere I am unable to see what it is thats broken. All I know is that I can see the gear stick come out of the bulkhead in the engine bay and seem like it should be connected to another peice of metal.

Apollogies I'm not the best at describing this, I've never had to deal with anything gear related before.

Many Thanks
Chris

Bar should come out of the gear box on to a weird looking piece of metal with two knobs on it then another bar into a coupling up into the car
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what the part is called and where I can source one from?

Many Thanks,

Which part is it? It's probably the linkage and easiest place is scrap yards
