Corsa b 1.7D

Post by gazza_no7 »

What are the engines like on these? As in MPG, speed and reliability? I'm going to look at a 5 door tomorrow and just wondered if they are alright... I do about 40 miles a day (20 miles to work and 20 miles back) also is there anything I need to look for when I go look at it? Thanks!

Not too familiar with the diesels

But I do know that there Isuzu engines and there bulletproof and the td's are very tunable, they don't have an ecu so if it pulls well it should be fine

And just ask about the usual service stuff, remember to ask about timing belt

And you should know where to look for rust and wear body wise
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Okay thanks, It isn't a turbo diesel which I'm gutted about but the TD conversion doesn't look too hard! Its only done 68k, know when the timing belt would need doing?

These engines are normally good to over 250000 miles aswell so 6800 is nothing
If it doesn't fit,
force it,

Cambelt on them is recommended to be changed every 35-40k or 3-4 years which ever comes first

If seller says it changed recently ask for proof as so many just say they changed it

If there's anything specific you want to know about them I can look through the logs for them
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
