If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Astra coupe bertone :D
Decided this afternoon I was going to de badge her, and took a shot of the break light to then removed the sticker:
Only a sticker but looks ok .
Ok so before as she sits:
Before with m standard lights:
And after as she sits de badged:
With standard lights:
So I settled on keeping the smoked Lexus style lights on it, don't like those standard ones .
Opinions welcome.

Re: Astra coupe bertone :D
Yeah it's a euro look all the range over in Germany a lot of BMW's have it. They came with the car as did the Lexus style smoked lights but I figures the Lexus style lights are a lot safe than the euro ones as I see a red reverse light as a stupid idea and down rite dangerous.

Astra coupe bertone :D
Ok so a little update of the latest antics....
To start with I noticed last night the car was rattling a little so a little inspection reviled low oil, now I checked the service book and according to that it was last done in 2003...so with no clue when the oil was last dropped and what was in it I decided to take a trip to halfrods and pick up some 10/40 and a new oil filter.
So oil done would say I've out around 4 to 4.5 litres in as advised and it's running sweet, however the oil filter proved to be a nightmare, refusing to budge I accepted defeat so I'll let me mechanics in work do it Sunday while my wheel bearing is being done.
Now for the next thing, upon reading up on the coupe last night I stumbled across simple power increase mods for the NA engine and began to play with it.
So open end the bonnet, removed the air box and took out the restriction pipe as advised on the AOC thread on here:
So with that fitted back to the car hopefully that helps a little.
Now my spoiler is beyond repair with a crack right through the left side separating it from it's mount point I informed a friend on the phone who happens to work at a garage / body shop, he asked his colleagues about my car as I asked for my wheels to be refurbished and sprayed gloss black and my spoiler repaired, he let him know they had a coupe spoiler on the shelf in mint condition and I could have it for £30 so went and collected it:
So get it re-sprayed and fitted at some point.
it's booked in to Pro-Speed Exhaust to have the centre box removed and a strait through pipe put in, I'm just hoping it's not to loud.
so to follow on from yesterday's post, car went up to Pro-Speed Exhausts 9am this morning to have the centre box removed and a suspected blow from the flexi pipe. Here's how it went:
Arrived at Pro-Speed and first on the ramp:
Centre box removed:
Discovered it's a janspeed one:
20" stainless steal pipe welded in:
Ok so job done, now on to the blow, what was suspected to be coming from the flexi pipe turned out to be where the previous owner has had the magnex backbox fitted...so to begin:
So get it cut off and discover this:
That's not to bad you say....but on closer inspection:
Not a good sight to see, who put it on did a half ars job. 3" reducer down to a 2" reducer and then bolted on, causing lack in power and a serious blow.. So on to the repair:
And to finish a cheeky video:
http://youtu.be/DxQ1SrY2EWA
Also received my bearing this morning so get that fitted on work tomorrow
Massive thank you to Charlie and the team over at pro-speed exhausts: http://www.pro-speedexhausts.com

I've just fitted blue LED T5 lights in my clocks after receiving them this morning
I've got one or two issues with it though:
the millage display isn't showing when lights are off, and when on it's a really dull blue can hardly see it.
my handbrake and fuel light won't go off
my headlight and front fog light icons don't come on when turned on
I took out the clocks and changed the bulbs and put them back in. I changed the blue and put the original white one in and no different. So a but lost, run out of day light so need to have a look when I'm off next sadly that's Friday next week .
