speedo needle removal

Post by newbiecorsa »

Hey, I'm new to this forum. I haven't seen an actual answer to this. I want to paint my needles and I was just wondering can you take them off and is there a danger messing up the speedo? It is a corsa b eco 1.2 with electric speedo.

There easy to take off and there's always a chance you'll put them on wrong put its unlikely, just remember where they sat
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

I dont think u can take them off mate tbh as it is hard to get the speedo back to its original position which can make your speedo offset
If it ain't green and black send it back :D

Yeah i actually seen that. any concern about the fact that the needle wants to go further than the stop pin?

For the revs I start the car and put the needle to 900 revs or whatever your car idles at and Speedo at zero while idling

Dont have the rev counter but thats a really good idea anyway. the needle wont move with the engine running. now anything smart for the temp as that one will change?

Just do a small mark on the clocks for temp and petrol don't put them on while running as they will have moved

I might have to turn the engine on as they all are under pressure while resting on the stop pins

You could always paint them with nail varnish and leave them on the clocks

You can get nail varnish in near every colour and it's thick with a small brush

force it,
