few problems help :)

Post by pdrpaul »

hi looking for some pointers where to look. I have corsa 1.4 8 valve 3 door and just got tracking sorted yest my steering wheel now points the wheels in right direction of travel but on the inside shoulder of nearside tyre its wearing pretty fast just got new tyres 2 months ago and on inside shoulder there bout 3 mm left rest of tyre is 6 mm+ also is pulling to the left (nearside) when trying to go in straight line. thinking suspension/bushes are destroyed somewhere any you guys know best places to check first. planning on getting new shockers n springs all round next week hoping its a bad shockers will make things easier lol. I do have a winter tyre on nearside rear dont know if that will make a difference. thanks people ;)

id think about maybe looking at the chassis rail too. i had a corsa gsi that would pull to the left because the chassis was rotten there was to much play

cheers lads chassis seems ok although was welded at chassis legs at front two year back still solid tho. may jack it up tommorow and have a look getting annoying constantly going towards kirbs I think it started happening since I hit a major pothole two month ago. if it is due to that potholes what would you say best to check:/ also got loads of bodyroll in corners, hence wanna get new shocks n springs and drop it 40 mm
thanks again

been having a good check this morn all ball joints track rod ends etc seem solid and chassis. so decided to change front wheels around when I did this the steering wheel was not in line with wheels whilst going straight and was pulling twice as hard but this time to the right. I thought I may have put tracking out whilst jacking car up so thought il change wheels back around and hey ho its back to the way it was so im pretty sure its somat to do with tyre. I got both fronts done with remoulds bout 2 month back and put corsa c sxi alloys on at same time put dint get tracking done and now the front off side is wearing evenly but the nearside has wore to bout 3 mm on inside shoulder what you reckon just case of new tyre so its a even tread all round and get tracking again.

Get tracking and a balance check first anyway then get the New tyre after its sorted
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

You would be best getting a full steering ego check done as this check everything like caster camber toe
It will show up if something is bent

Different places charge different prices
You want to look proper places and not like Kwik fit or national tyres

I'd be expecting to pay around the 50 mark for a laser check

Is your car lowered?
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
